Commissions

If you are interested in commissioning a work, please contact me here and I will get back to you as soon as I can. We will talk through price options based on size and complexity, and I'll work with you to create a one of a kind work on panel, canvas or paper, tailored perfectly for you! You are welcome to send me inspo color palettes, Pinterest boards or pictures of the space in which the work will hang, or any other information you feel is pertinent to know so that I can make sure your commission is just as you envision!

STEP ONE: THE VISION

Ok, let's talk content, style and medium. Do you have an image you'd like for me to work from? Do you envision something photorealistic in oil paint, or do you prefer the looser, fluid quality of a watercolor? What size are you thinking? We'll chat through these and a wide array of other questions to make sure we're on the same page. After this, I will send you my price list to talk in further detail about my recommendations based on our discussion. Once you have made a decision on size and media, I'll ask for a 50% deposit of the final price in order to hold your spot on my commissions list.

STEP 2: SKETCHING

I will begin with some sketches, either digitally or by hand, working out various spatial compositions and color palettes. Depending on the type of project, I might send you a handful of drawn layouts to choose from before shifting from pencil to paintbrush. I'll send progress shots after the initial layers of paint are down for your feedback and any major adjustments.

STEP 3: WORK IN PROGRESS

When I think your painting is nearing the finish line, I'll send high-res photos and videos of the work. Included in the commission price is light editing and tweaking (such as adjusting a detail of the composition or color shading – but not reworking an entire component of the final piece. Those type of edits would be conveyed and worked out in the sketching process.

STEP 4: HURRAY!

After I receive your seal of approval, I'll finish up your work with a protectant varnish or fixatif (gloss or matte? yet another question I will ask in the early stages!) to protect it for shipping and framing. I am happy to frame the work at cost for you if you like. Please let me know ahead of time if that's something you're interested in and we will chat through framing options. You pay the shipping fee, so please let me know up front if you're not local to NYC and I will provide an estimate for shipping.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to work with you soon! Xx
